The National Incident Management System (NIMS) Training Program defines the national NIMS training program. It specifies National Integration Center and stakeholder responsibilities and activities for developing, maintaining and sustaining NIMS training. The NIMS Training Program outlines responsibilities and activities that are consistent with the National Training Program, as mandated by the Post-Katrina Emergency Management Reform Act of 2006. This program integrates with FEMA training offered through the Emergency Management Institute (EMI) and United States Fire Administration (USFA).
You must complete the NIMS Training Program online in order to successfully complete EMT Training. Please go to the NIMS WebsiteLinks to an external site. to do the online training or you may click directly on the module links below.
Get a FEMA Student Id following the directions found in the NIMS training file Attached below.
Please complete the following 4 modules of NIMS Training:
ICS-100 - Introduction to Incident Command SystemLinks to an external site.
ICS-200 - ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action IncidentsLinks to an external site.
IS-700 - National Incident Management System - An IntroductionLinks to an external site.
IS-800 - National Response Framework - An IntroductionLinks to an external site.
Follow the instructions found on each page to complete each module and then complete the Final exam on the website. Upon completion, you will be awarded a certificate of completion. Be sure to save that certificate. You will need to upload a copy to the assignment in the fall when Canvas opens.
